The Day I Taught Electricity
I hated it— resistors, current,
invisible spark. The book bored me.
The diagrams bored them. So I dumped
wires and batteries on the table
like kindling.
Let the sparks come from them, not me.
They made circuits like magicians. Laughed
when things lit up. Swore they’d invented
the light bulb.
And I believed them. Because that day,
I saw the fire.
