Prologue Long Grass Hike
These are places
where wind has become
the sole voice,
where the long grass dances
to an unconscious song,
celebrates old voices, old deaths.
These are places
to return to,
where the land has gone to seed
with what we were
and we carry ourselves,
embedded,
back with us.
