The Quieter You Become
I once thought my worth
was in my words.
The room would fill with sound,
and I’d try to fill it further—
until silence became unbearable.
Now, I know this:
a friend who listens can say more
than a chorus. A day with no noise
can teach you what your life has been
trying to say all along.
The quieter you become, the more
you are able to hear.
