The Hobby
I pulled fabric from a shelf—
not because I had to, not because
it would make me better.
But because color is
its own reward.
I forgot the time. Let my phone
grow quiet. Threaded stillness
through my fingers.
I wasn’t producing.
I wasn’t performing.
I was choosing.
And in the rhythm of my hands
I found something almost
sacred: a life that fits.
