The Frenemy’s Smile
She brought me tea when I was
broken— left petals in the cup,
tucked her warmth into my winter.
But when I stood again, she withered.
Her joy was a shadow that disappeared
in my light. What kind of love only
blooms in my bruising?
What kind of friend needs me
to stay fallen?
