Joy Harjo’s Table
Perhaps the world ends here,
she says— where coffee cools
in chipped mugs, and someone
is peeling an orange to quiet
their hands.
Where no one’s at their best but
everyone’s at the table—
laughing, gossiping, trying again.
We teach each other to be human
at the edge of toast and grief,
passing the salt, naming the ache.
